The mission of the National Dropout Prevention Center/Network is to serve as a research center and resource network for practitioners, researchers, and policymakers to reshape school and community environments to meet the needs of youth in at-risk situations so these students receive the quality education and services necessary to succeed academically and graduate from high school.

The Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School has a common theme and mission; providing educational services for those who were not served fully at the time, by the public school system.

The Youth Challenge Academy is a 17 month program that uses military structure and discipline to increase the employability and educational levels of at risk youth. The 22 week residential phase is located at the Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School.

Middle Colleges

Middle Colleges are high school programs housed at institutions of higher learning and are established to help at-risk students who have potential for eventual college studies. A Middle College High School would reduce the high school dropout rate, create a seamless transition to college programs, afford you real-world work experiences and encourage collaboration between K-12 and higher education.
