Success Stories
Work-Keys provides more opportunity.
My name is Tim Henderson. I want to tell you about the wonderful journey of how I came to my Personal Pathway of Success.
I graduated from Abbeville High school in 2003 and I was able to take a few Career & Technology courses while I was there. When I left AHS, I went to Piedmont Technical College for one semester before heading out into the workforce. I went to work at a lumber company driving a truck and did that job for 4 years. All the while, I knew that I needed a better paying job to support my family. I saw ads that caught my eye about Piedmont Technical College giving the Work Keys test this past summer. I took the test and was able to land an interview with a great company……..Capsugel.
Capsugel is located in Greenwood, SC. It's a division of Pfizer Inc., is the world leader in capsule manufacturing and an emerging force in the dietary supplement industry. With several locations in Asia, the Americas, and Europe, Capsugel can understand and respond to the ever-changing needs of customers in the fast-paced, competitive, and burgeoning global dietary supplement industry. To give companies a market edge that will help them grow, Capsugel offers a full range of services and products for fast-to-market delivery of innovative, quality dosage forms.
At the interview my work ethic and determination for success shined through and I was hired in August 2007 as a temporary employee. Within 3 months, I proved to be an asset to the company and quickly moved up in salary! I went from a machine cleaner to a changeover specialist with additional in house training at Capsugel.
This has been a life-changing experience! Working here at Capsugel, I can now support my family, buy my own home and even plan for retirement. These things weren’t a possibility for me a year ago before I took the Work Keys test. Thank you for letting share my story with you. I hope this is an inspiration for someone to take the first step towards a better paying job. I know it really worked for me.
