Mission Statement

Our Mission is that "every person in the Waccamaw Region will reach his/her potential in education attainment and workforce accomplishments."

To accomplish our mission, the Waccamaw Regional Education Center will establish a website designed as a go-to resource for parents, students, and educators.  The purpose of the website is to work with local businesses in every career cluster.  Businesses provide students with opportunities for hands-on, real-world work experience through job shadowing, internships and mentoring opportunities.   Educators partner with employers interested in speaking to students about industry trends or participating in career fairs.

On-line Regional Education Centers work to coordinate out-of-classroom learning opportunities that connect students and educators with the business community.  The Waccamaw Regional Education Center website is a "hub" which allows students to respond to opportunities posted by local employers.  The website connects students and educators with the business community and aligns students' post-graduation goals with the knowledge, skills and character traits required for real-world success.

The website has links to information helpful in career exploration, higher education opportunities and scholarships.  Regional Education Center Coordinators need your help in developing website content and functions.
